My choice to use small items in order to create a larger image comes from my personal experiences of being part of a collective; It embodies diversity and the freedom to stay alive.
Molly Gambardella is an artist based in Connecticut, USA, who is inspired by both cultural and biological diversity. Her work continues to evolve into a celebration of everything on the planet, however big or small, and highlighting their self organizing capacities. By taking small items that were either discarded, mass produced, or both, the artist engages a process of balancing the principles of play with those of structure. Primarily working with installations, interactive art and sculpture, Molly's work has been shown both internationally and across the continental US.
