Jan Brandt American

From Jan Brandt’s childhood spent on a farm, punctuated with visits to arboretums and botanical gardens, to the many hours now spent tending her garden, the highly dimensional paintings and hand cut and sewn fiber installations she has created have grown out of a lifelong fascination with the otherworldly realm of plant life. The use of abstracted interpretations of botanical themes underscores her interest in both naturally occurring and personal expressions of growth.
