This work responds to the under-resourced community of Chiraq, which struggles with gun violence among gangs. This piece uses images of graffiti I've photographed in many cities and includes the tag of the feminist street artist Miss Me. I use the fence over the lingerie to symbolize the collective agreement among women in that community to withhold sex until the fighting stops. As a barrier, it emphasizes the power women have when they unite for a cause—in this case to combat gun violence and gang conflict.
