Lysistrata, the army disbander or liquidator of armies, achieves peace between warring factions by convincing the women to withhold sex from their men. Throughout history, women have been told that they are too emotional and irrational to be involved in professions that demand critical thinking skills and logic. The violence created by society toward women can lead to their untimely death. But it was the women from past generations, who ultimately fought against said violence, who set up better living conditions for us and our daughters. When I think of the lives that my great grandmother, grandmother and mother lived, and how they paved the way for my own daughters, I realize that their unification created our reality.
