FAVORITE SPOT TO FIND INSPIRATION I have always found inspiration on water, and it can come at any time—sitting in traffic on the MacArthur Causeway, watching the cruise ships; sitting on a bench at Magaret Pace Park on a lounge chair at any of my favorite boutique hotels on South Beach. As long as I can hear and smell the water, ideas and dreams will too flow.
BEST OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH PLACE TO SEE ART The best places to find fresh art are the artist collectives around town, like Collective 62, Fountainhead, and the Bakehouse Art Complex; artist-run places like Laundromat Art Space. There is something interesting about experiencing art where it is created and, of course, getting to know the artist, the person who manages and hones the creativity we find in the museums.
BEST-KEPT SECRET IN MIAMI There are many secrets in Miami, and I am not about to tell you all of them! But one thing that I do think should be let out of the proverbial bag is the quality of art produced in Miami and how it has become a hub for those interested in exploring our place in society. In Miami, you find artists and art from all walks of life, speaking on issues that one does not expect in such a playground. Miami has depth explored and espoused in a myriad of voices.
