Rebounding from 2024’s edition at ZONAMACO and the customs nightmare, The Contemporary Art Modern Project is beyond enthusiastic to announce their participation again in this year’s edition of ZONAMACO, Mexico City. Occupying the same booth EJ20 as last year we will be showing Manju Shandler (a veteran from last year’s artwork hostage situation), Michela Martello and Karola Pezarro, creating a fiber and painting based booth exploring the inner self and philosophies of these three women artists. Curated by Melanie Prapopoulos with the goal of drawing viewers and collectors to intimately explore and experience the works as each artist sets her philosophies for all to decipher. Starting with Shandler and her mixed media works on canvas, she turns towards ancient belief systems, questioning as she deconstructs to only go on to reconstruct new more universals. Michela Martello also looks at ancient philosophies and immortalizes under her brush compassionate, yet powerful women who guide one through a journey of discovery. Karola Pezarro intricately weaves and fashions shadows through fiber asking the viewer to accept the many components of life and what could be seen as the magic of reality.
