Earthly Editions: A group online exhibition featuring artists Carol Erb, Alice Zilberberg, Alice de Kruijs, and Marisa S. White

28 April - 30 June 2023
Artists Carol Erb, Alice Zilberberg, Alice de Kruijs and new to the gallery Marisa S. White all turn their lens and focus on the planet, the waters and animals that inhabit that must face the results of an ever changing world. Starting with de Kruijs, who intensely explores rising sea levels and how this phenomenon effects not only the animals but also the peoples perpetually tottering on ruin, she directs our focus to beautiful and dreamy scenes that on the surface tempt a desire to explore, but also within profess an environment in peril.  Alice Zilberberg has dedicated her work to create dreamy scenarios to stimulate meditation - not just for the self, but also for the animal found in her piece - which has often been transported away from its habitat to a man made enclosure for entertainment. Carol Erb continues this conversation by taking her animals out of cages, and placing them in our bathrooms for example, suggesting that if the natural world reduces in area for wildlife - might they look towards our comfortable abodes? Lastly, Marisa S. White in some of her work explores what could happen to animals misplaced by things like climates sweltering in swathes of barren tundra to being transported to vestiges of our homes.

Each of these artists explore the earth and what they find happening and because they work in photography their works are all editions, which besides becoming one of the fastest growing selling mediums of art across galleries, fairs and auction house, it is also a form of art that does show some sympathy and dedication to the environment in that works do not always get printed until they sell - so there is, from a practical sense, less waste.
