Elizabeth Cady, Susan B Anthony, Harriet Tubman and Marie Louise Baldwin all fought the same fight but not from the same front line. Harriet Tubman and Marie Louise Baldwin were not accepted in the Suffragist Movement because they were both considered minorities: an African American and a Native American, who would turn the purple, Yellow and White movement into a racial one - therefore they were excluded. This piece aims to bring them together to create an affiliation that through history seems to be fair then and now. These women, were in effect, bees from the same hives hence the reference to bees wax in the quilted piece.
