Michela Martello's exclusive interview with My Modern Met

The CAMP Gallery at ZⓈONAMACO 2025
My Modern Met, February 13, 2025

My Modern Met’s exclusive interview with talented Italian New York-based artist Michela Martello of The CAMP Gallery at ZⓈONAMACO 2025 in Mexico City.

The Heavenly Princesses explores the interconnected spiritual energy of four deities: Mazu, Green Tara, Guanyin, and the Virgin Mary. The installation, shaped as a spiral, gradually reveals each goddess as viewers walk through it.

Martello unites these four powerful goddesses—representing different cultures and continents—to embody compassion and demonstrate the absence of division, encouraging viewers to connect with this energy within their own spirit. She employs interfacing, a material typically used in upholstery, as her canvas, along with organic water-based pigments, acrylic, ink, and pencil.
